Fishing: Narragansett Bay, Block Island, Cape Cod, Elizabeth Islands
Fish targeted in our waters are striped bass, sea bass, fluke, bluefish, scup, tautog, and bluefin tuna (shorts).
In Narragansett Bay, spring is the season for striped bass and tautog. From the second week in May until the end of June, stripers can be seen on the surface chasing newly hatched crabs and worms. These fish range from 5 lbs up to 15 lbs, with the occasional 20 pounder being landed. Striper fishing is usually done with plastic baits, live herring. and sight fishing with a fly.
Tautog (blackfish) are found around various rock piles and structures, and if using the right tackle are pound-for-pound one of the best fighting fish in our waters.
During the summer months, July through September, bluefish can be seen for miles chasing bait fish and are a real joy to catch on light tackle. Scup, fluke and sea bass also inhabit local waters and are fun to catch. While all of this is going on, trophy-sized striped bass off Block Island are ripe for the taking.
August and September brings small bluefin tuna and sharks to New England waters. Landing one of these fish is among the most exciting experiences a sport fisherman can have... and we'd love to be a part of your moment of triumph!
