May 31, 2008.

Today Capt Bill Took Melanie Disano's party fishing before the bad weather hit, and we landed a few nice bass near Prundence Island, the biggest bass that was landed was by Melanie at about 20 lbs. The weather was horrible.

 

May 30th, 2008.

Today Capt. Bill took Jim Raiola bass fishing off Prudence Island where he landed about 15 beautiful bass. The biggest was about 15lbs. No pictures at the moment, since Capt. Bill forgot the card in the card reader, so no pictures. Sorry about that! Won't happen again!

Today, Captain Bill took the Can´t Imagine out with Telle Gatos, Peter Dias, Mark Luther, and Gary Geoffory as we searched for striped bass off the waters of Prudence Island. We just got our pogies and within 5 minutes of putting them down, we started hooking up like crazy! We got 1 fish about 25 lbs and we moved one mile south and Peter hooked in a 31 and a half pounder. All together, we landed 25-30 stripers and had a great day of fishing!

May 27, 2008.

Today Capt Billy Silvia took Don O´Neil and Nils Christensen from Ultimate Kayak Fishing over to the darkside when fishing on the Can´t Imagine for a sports fishing charter. We left at 6:00AM in driving rain looking for pogies. Nils and Don tried out some swimming plugs on the rock piles in Bristol Harbor. After an hour of nothing we got some pogies and started looking for stripers. Mount Hope Bay was dead and we had marked a few fish outside of Popasquash point so we did a drift there. Ended up in front of Bear Point, Prudence Island drifting north with the wind catching stripers up to 26lb. The largest fish of the day took a bunker 5 feet from the boat after chasing it around for 5 minutes. Rain stopped, wind laid down and the Ultimate Kayak Fishing boys where happy with there day on the darkside.

May 25, 2008.

Today, Captain Bill took the Can't Imagine out with Rory Smith and his family. After picking Rory up, we went up into the Mount Bay, and we put our pogies down and immediately caught some beautiful bass. They weighed around 15-28lbs. The biggest bass was caught by Rory and we had a great day.

Today, Captain Bill took the big man and his crew into the Mount Hope Bay where they had a steady pick of stripers up to 30lbs. On the day, we landed about a dozen fish. It was a decent day, can't wait for the wind to die.

Today, Captain Billy went on the Can´t Imagine with Nick C., Greg and John. We went looking for striped bass off Prudence Island, where we caught 4 nice bass, then ventured into the Mount Bay. There, we caught nice 20-25 bass and biggest caught by John Hab Jr. was about 21lbs.

Today, Captain Billy took the Can´t Imagine out with Jason Carr and Chris Champi from Cumberland. We went to Prudence Island in search of striped bass, and we found them. Catching fish up to 25lbs, both Jason and Chris had a great day landing over 15 stripers.

May 21, 2008

Today Captain Billy took John and Helene Charchafliah fishing for striped bass. The first stop was Bear Point, Prudence Island and we didn't have to go any farther. We landed about 15 striped bass within the hour period, and some big bluefish. Helene got the biggest striper around 19lbs. They both had a great time, caught plenty, and had a great breakfast at the Hope Diner. What great people!

Captain Billy took the Can´t Imagine to Bear Point, Prudence Island with Zack, Mike, and Matt Particelli for some stripers. First, right away we caught some beautiful bass, laying up to 20lbs. Matt caught a fish that was 28lbs, but it was Zack that got a 45in, 32lbs striper. Fishing today was fast and furious, catching 25 stripers and now the big fish are starting to move, hopefully this will be a good week.

May 18, 2008.

Today, Captain Billy went out to Mount Hope Bay with Rick, John Paul, and Jeff Souza. We immediately got into acres of pogies, where we snagged 40 and caught 2 bass. After, we went to Hog Island, and you couldn´t imagine how thick the bass were. The biggest was taken by Rick, at 18lbs, then we went outside of Potter´s Cove near Prudence Island, and Paul hooked a 23lbs and Jeff caught 2 nice bass also. Later, John hooked an 8lb white chinner. Overall, today was a good day starting with good weather, and the wind came up. All and all, we must have caught 30 bass and 8 nice tautog. Can´t wait for this week to come.

Today Captain Billy took Rob "Bobwesier" Squatritio and 3rd mate, Mike Kenny to get pogies

May 16, 2008.

Today Captain Billy took Rob "Bobwesier" Squatritio and 3rd mate, Mike Kenny to get pogies for Captain Bill´s charter tomorrow, and in doing so, landed 18 stripers from 15-25lbs, while we were snagging pogies in Tiverton and Mount Hope Bay. The pogies are absolutely everywhere, and if you have a little patience, the stripers are there too with them.

We caught about 15 stripers right near the hurricane barrier with the biggest was about 20lbs.

May 15, 2008.

Today Captain Bill took the Can´t Imagine into the Providence River, where at the hurricane barrier, you can´t imagine how many poagies are up there! After we got our poggies we caught about 15 stripers right near the hurricane barrier, and the biggest was about 20lbs. Then, we went outside to the Mud Flats off of Ohio Ledge, where we caught another 15. The biggest caught by Zach weighed about 25lbs. Hopefully, we will catch more, and have a good weekend.

May 14, 2008.

Today, Captain Bill took the boys from HABS LURES to try some proto-type lures they have been working on. After we went to the first spot, we didn´t catch any bass, and then we hit Poppasquash Point where Nick C. on his 3rd cast caught a 15lbs striper on a HABS mullet, squid pattern. The morning then turned hot, as we landed over 20 bass, the biggest bass of the day weighed in at 26lbs caught by John Hab JR. Afer the sun rose to high in the sky, and then we turned to squid and then we masacrated them, releasing over 15 more. It was a great day, we were all happy. Thank you John Hab Jr for the plugs.

May 11, 2008.

Today, Capt. Bill took Rubin Guilsfuchi, his dad and their buddy, tautog and bass fishing. First, we hit the tautog spot, and got their limit in a half-hour. After, we caught some nice striped bass, up to 32in and we even caught 2 bluefish. It was a great day of fishing with the birds working as the bass were pounding the bait. Hopefully, a good week of fishing to come.

May 9th 2008

Today Capt Bill went to Prudence Island with Don and Jeff to show them the island lodge. I got home around 9AM couldn't stand being on land anymore. About 12:30 Capt. Bill got in his Boston Whaler the Sweet Melissa where he hit a few tautog spots in the harbor. After catching a few shorts Capt Bill Hooked into 12lb 8oz white chin Lucy that was 26" long. After the fish ripped 1/2 the line off the reel Capt Bill landed it and it was a great day despite the rain.

May 7, 2008.

Today, Capt Billy fished around Hog Island and Potter´s Cove, Prudence Island with Brad Silvia and Rob "Bobweiser" Squatrito. First, we targeted tautog in in the 1st half hour, releasing over 10 tautog after we caught our limit. After that, the stripers were our next target. First, we went to Poppasquash Point, catching about a half dozen, biggest one about 33 in. caught by Brad. Then we went to Potter´s Cove where, Rob "Bobweiser" Squatrito hooked into a 35in. that weighed 16lbs. All in all, we landed 20 stripers, and 7 nice keepers, between 30 and 35 in. (This is just the beginning.)

May 6th, 2008.

Today, Captain Billy took the Can´t Imagine into the Mt. Hope Bay with John and Helen Charchafliah, looking for tautog. On the wreck, we spotted them right away, landing 17 tautog in one hour. The biggest landed by Helen at 7 lbs. We continued to catch and release for a half hour. We headed in, and went to the Hope Diner, for a nice breakfast after a great morning of fishing. Tomorrow, starts the first day Captain Bill targets striped bass, so we´ll be looking out for keepers.

May 5´th, 2008.

Today, Captain Bill took the Can´t Imagine into Mt. Hope Bay where there were tons of small stripers, working the surface. On the way out through the harbor, there were many pogies. Along for the ride came, Mike Motta, Brian Daponte, and Brad Silvia. We set up on a wreck in the Mt. Hope Bay and landed 15 tautog within a half hour. Biggest tautog caught was weighed in at 8 lbs by Brad. The 2nd spot produced, at least 20 tautog and the biggest was taken by Brian, was about 7 and a half lbs. Hopefully, another great day tomorrow with great weather!

May 4, 2008.

Today, despite all of the rain and hard south-east wind, Nick and Alex Colantonio and Greg McGrath, went out searching for tautogs. The morning was decent, with 8 tautog caught in the 1st spot. A little while later, on the 2nd spot, we caught over 20 tautog, the biggest one weighing in at 7lbs by Greg. All in all, it was a great day despite the weather, and I hope the weather clears up for tomorrow.

May 3, 2008.

Today, Captain Billy fished with Alan and Brandon Kape for tautog in the Tiverton Basin and Hog Island Lighthouse. The morning was decent, with a total of 6 fish. The biggest fish, caught by Brandon, which weighed in at 8 lbs. The bite started to die, and we went to a different location where the bite was better. After 2 hours of fishing, we threw back 5-7 pound tautog back into the water, because of our limit. Another big tautog weighed in at 9 lbs, was caught by Alan Kape. We caught at least 30 tautog for the day, and went home happy

Mount Hope Bay and Hog Island Lighthous blackfishing

May 1, 2008

Today, Captain Billy took Can´t Imagine into the Mount Hope Bay and Hog Island Lighthouse with Dave Henault from Ocean State Tackle, (Bucktail) Mike Trouve and Mike Kenney. All together we must have caught 40 tautog, and it was a beautiful day with plenty of action. The biggest fish of the day, weighed in at 8 pounds, caught by (Bucktail) Mike Trouve. We were limited out within the first hour, so all we did was catch and release for the other 2 hours.

April 30th, 2008

Today was the 1st day, Captain Billy took the Can't Imagine out for a test ride. He stopped to catch a few tautog on a few rock piles, where he landed 25 tautog with his mate, Mike. Within an hour an half, 20 keepers which threw back, all but three. Captain Billy starts his charters, May 1st and he will post how tomorrow goes also. It looks like its going to be a great year because of all the pogeys around, and the water is looking to be the right color. Within a week, the big bass will arrive. Til then, I´ll have a few tautog charters and maybe and stop to catch a few schoolies, there is plenty of them around. More Pictures in the Gallery ...
