September 2009 Fishing Report

September fishing with Capt Billy Silvia is always exciting. Big fish are feeding hard before the fall run back to their spawning areas in Chesapeake or the Hudson River.

Fishing Block Island and Block Island sound in big water is common for September.  We fish the beaches off Newport and some of the reef off the south coast.

Sunday, Sept 20

Today, Capt. Bill took Jeff Nunez and the Katester fishing for striped bass at Brenton Reef where they landed some real nice fish up to 35lbs.

 

Saturday, Sept 19

Today, Capt. Bill took John Olivera and the boys along with Brent from Newport Storm where we landed several nice bass with a pair 28lb-ers.

 

Friday, Sept 18

Today, Capt. Bill took Gary Lepore and his neighbor, Kathy Scrivens, fishing for striped bass at Brenton Reef where we landed some nice bass. Kathy landed a 30lb, her first keeper striper ever.

The boat sailed to off the coast of Newport R.I.

Catch of the day consisted of 2x 30 lb Stripe Bass and 2x 40 lb Striped Bass and a Benita,
as well as quite a number of other various fish. A great time was had by all.
